LOST :: TIME Theory

The TIME Theory is very interesting. Crafted by SpOOky on the 4815162342.com forum, this theory basically concludes that time itself is flowing in a loop on the island. The example they use is that the hatch explosion we saw in the Season 2 finale blew the door off the hatch, which (in some kind of time warp) hit the plane and caused it to crash, allowing the survivors to land on the island, find the hatch, not push the numbers, and start the loop all over again.

Seems a little far-fetched at first, but if the same thing are happening again and again, things could have happened on several previous loops that would explain some of the stranmge things that have happened. If the Others have experimented on the Losties, they may have helped Sun get pregnant, healed Locke and Rose, etc. This would also explain how they know so much about the survivors, even to the point where they think they know what Sun will and will not do in a specific situation.

The theory is very interesting. Read more about The TIME Theory.

LOST :: The Seventh Seal Theory

Conceived by Andrew Smith, the 7th seal theory claims that a plague is destroying humanity.

According to this theory, the island was on the opposite side of the world from New York City, and now exists as something of a shadow existing the same space.

The numbers 4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and 42, indicate the street numbers of the New York City parks where the electromagnetic energy is released every 108 minutes:
Washington Square Park on 4th
Tompkins Square Park on 8th
Union Square Park on 15th
Stuyvesant Square Park on 16th
Madison Square Park on 23rd
Bryant Park on 42nd

The failsafe that Desmond triggered in the Season 2 finale would release the energy at 108th street in Central Park.

More about the Seventh Seal Theory can be found at this link.

This theory is very interesting, although I believe it's far too complex to be a plot line for the television show. To me, the most interesting part is the four-toed statue that Sayid, Jin, and Sun saw looking almost exactly like the Statue of Liberty's foot.

The name The Seventh Seal Theory is from a film by Ingmar Bergman. Andrew Smith shows screenshots from this film, and it really seems hard to believe that the writers of the show didn't base at least some things off this film. There are several striking similarities between this film and LOST.

The Best Lost Theories

LOST - The greatest show on television.

What keeps viewers so enthralled are the mysteries that surround the entire plot, from the fact that over 60 people survived a horrific crash, to the more-than-coincidental intertwining of the survivors' lives prior to the crash.

As with any good mystery series, dedicated viewers have taken it upon themselves to craft theories to explain what they think is happening and/or will happen on the show. Some theories involve one small part of the plot and others are all-encompassing, seeking to explain most of the unresolved plot points so far.

As the plot unfolds, these theories are refined and added to. New theories are always popping up, and posted all over the web, on blogs and message boards. The goal of this site is to bring all of those theories together into one easily accessible place where they can be read, analyzed, and discussed. What better way to spend the time between episodes?

This site thrives on community participation. If you see a great theory not mentioned here yet, let us know. If you have something to add, post a comment! This site can be really great, and I believe we can come up with some great theories!
